The Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) places Blue Teams in charge of defending a realistic enterprise network while a professional Red Team actively attacks it. Success comes from balancing security with business operations—keeping services online, responding to management requests, and protecting the network from compromise.

White Team injects simulate requests from management. These can include creating accounts, writing reports, performing audits, or responding to changing business requirements.
Critical services such as Active Directory, DNS, web servers, email, databases, and file shares must remain online throughout the competition. Availability is one of the biggest factors in overall scoring.
The Red Team evaluates the security of your environment. Teams earn better scores by hardening systems, preventing compromises, and demonstrating good defensive practices.
